These web pages present research in which I am involved. The topics are focused on modeling and simulation of microstructure mechanics and microstructure evolution in metallic materials and how this translates to macroscale material behavior. Main research topics include manifestations of plasticity at several length-scales, properties and influence of grain boundaries, recrystallization, grain growth and phase transformations. Both modeling of the physical mechanisms as well as implementation of efficient numerical simulation algorithms are fields of interest. Applications lie for example in materials engineering and in materials processing such as metal forming and forging and laser processing of metals.
